Message from Andrey Kigim, Chairman, Organising Committee, Russian Insurance Summit 2011, and President of ARIA

A period of time that has passed since the Russian Insurance Summit 2010 held last year in May was completely filled with the most important events for the insurance market. Meeting of the insurers with President of the Russian Federation D.Medvedev, constructing an international financial center in Moscow, improvement of the reform of insurance supervision and regulation, activation of the financial law-making – all this points to the fact that the insurance business and government are going to move to a new level. Considering such planned or expected changes, as Russia's accession to the WTO and the introduction of IFRS, increase of the charter capitals, introduction of insurance of dangerous industrial objects, changes in agricultural insurance and OMI, we can speak about a noticeable change of the insurance market landscape, about its radical transformation.
In order to discuss market developments, new trends and possible development scenarios with the authorities and within the community, and according to the decision of its members, All-Russian Insurance Association will hold the Russian Insurance Summit on June 30, 2011.

The primary purpose of the Russian Insurance Summit 2011 is to continue tradition to be a platform for conducting a public dialogue with the authorities on the most complex problems of insurers and for receiving the positive and directing signals from the authorities in order to determine the vector of market development. The Government takes or announces steps directed to the growth of organization, stability and transparency of insurance. The insurers are interested in incentive measures, which the Government is able to offer to renewing, more civilized insurance market.

Continuing the tradition of annual Russian Insurance Summit 2011 the conference program, along with plenary sessions, is supplemented by a number of Roundtable discussions of practical aspects of insurance business.

I’m glad to invite all of the insurance market participants of the Russian Insurance Summit 2011 to discuss the problems of the market and to prepare proposals for their solution.
