ITAR-TASS news products are distributed among more than 5000 corporate customers in Russia and abroad, including over 1000 mass media organizations, 200 embassies and diplomatic missions, over 250 financial companies and banks and 2000 industrial enterprises, research and educational establishments and libraries.

ITAR-TASS wires its content to the Presidential Staff, the Russian Government, the Federal Assembly, the Security Council, the authorities of Russia’s constituent territories and the federal and regional ministries and departments.

Actuality. The agency boasts a unique personnel training methodology, which has for decades allowed ITAR-TASS to blend the best traditions of domestic journalism with the best achievements of its foreign counterparts.

ITAR-TASS runs a network of correspondents unparalleled in Russia. Its 74 foreign bureau and 68 regional centers and offices across the nation are a resource that allows ITAR-TASS to promptly deliver information from any point on the globe. Over 100 foreign correspondents present to the Russian readership an impartial and integral picture of events around the world.

The unique information and reference archive of ITAR-TASS, established in 1918, contains over seven million documents making it possible to couple any news report with crucial historical background within seconds.

Stories. ITAR-TASS these days issues more than 200 news products covering political, economic, social, cultural and sports affairs at home and worldwide in six languages – Russian, English, French, German, Spanish and Arabic. The agency turns out a daily amount of news and stories enough to fill 300 full format newspaper pages.

ITAR-TASS Photo is a photo news branch, which is the oldest in Russia and in the whole of the CIS. The agency has been, and still is, the leading producer of photo information covering political, social and cultural affairs of the country. The ITAR-TASS database of photographs contains more than 2.5 million archive photographs and transparencies. It is Russia’s largest depository of historical documents. In recent years, it expanded considerably with about 800 thousands of digital photographs.

Synergy. ITAR-TASS maintains relations of partnership with over 60 news agencies around the world.

ITAR-TASS leads the Russian National Committee of UNESCO’s International Program for the Development of Communication (IPDC) and is affiliated with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee and Russia’s Commission for UNESCO.
